9 Month Grant for Clinical Epidemiological Prostate Cancer Studies

This grant is provided to an international PhD student in order to support to cover expenses such as house and boarding in Uppsala.

The Department of Surgical Sciences collaborates with Regional Cancer Centre Mid Sweden since 2009 on clinical prostate cancer research by use of clinical cancer registers (see www.npcr.se). Our team which consists of epidemiologists, clinicians and statisticians is dedicated to clinical prostate cancer research. By use of data in several large databases we study pattern of care, rare adverse effects of cancer treatment, and outcomes and we work on improving assessments of comorbidity.

Qualifications

You have an MD and you have an interest in prostate cancer epidemiology and you are eager to learn more in a new environment.  You are proficient in spoken and written English and you have some experience in data management.

What you will learn

You will have a very good opportunity to learn a lot about epidemiological and statistical methods, and medical writing.
