University IT services has been made aware of that the IT-support we offer on Rudbeck campus does not correspond to your organisation's needs and requirements. We regret this situation and now want to inform you about several ongoing efforts to improve our services.
We have re-allocated employees from different parts of University IT services to support the local team. As a result, we have been able to decrease the number of unresolved tickets by half in the past weeks and the trend remains positive. At the same time, we are recruiting both consultants and new employees to strengthen and develop our local team in the short and long term perspective. We also review support routines and tools to shorten response times and improve availability.
We have some equipment that has been ordered but not collected yet. If you have difficulties picking it up, please let us know and we will make sure that it is sent to you. Due to the risk of spreading infection, we kindly ask you to avoid physical visits to our helpdesk. In most cases we can resolve your computer and software-related problems remotely via Zoom or via remote control. Should you still need help in person, it is possible to agree on an appointment by e-mail or phone. When you order IT-equipment, you get information on how and when the equipment can be picked up.
Last December, the IT-committee appointed University IT Services, Common Services and the Office for Medicine and Pharmacy the task to form a joint team. The joint team shall address specific requirements and needs regarding IT and Audio Video / Video Conference support between Uppsala University, Uppsala Region and Uppsala University Hospital. The project will start during spring and is expected to continue throughout 2021. We will get back to you with more information regarding this work later during spring.
